‘is the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.... it is everyone’s responsibility.....Everyone who comes into contact with children has a role to play.’

Child Protection......

‘Is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer significant harm.’

Safeguarding at STFS:

At Sir Thomas Fremantle School, there is a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL), overseen by Mrs Leah Martindale (Senior Assistant Head). The Deputy DSL is Mr Neale Pledger (Headmaster).

Please do not hesitate to contact us for ANY concern that you may have:

Whilst the information you have may not require a Child Protection referral to the MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub), it will help your DSLs to make an informed decision about the risk of harm to the child(ren) and how to move forward in order to best protect them.
