Welcome Back

We hope you have all enjoyed a restful half-term break.

We return to school on Monday 19th February, and on Timetable Week A.

Please ensure students are in school by 8.30am so they do not miss important information and updates shared in Tutor Time.

Student/Teacher Communication

Instant messaging for students will be removed from TEAMS as of Monday 19th February. Students should use Outlook to email their teachers if they need to communicate with them about school work. We will ensure all students are aware of how to do this, but please use the slides below to help them at home if they need support.

Security Update

Please check your inbox for an email regarding our internet security update - containing instructions to install a security certificate on your child’s device. (It can also be viewed here if you are unable to find it - please contact the office to be emailed the certificate again.)

We have upgraded our internet security over the half term break, and all student devices are now required to have a safety certificate installed. Devices will not be able to connect to our school Wi-Fi network without it.

The certificate ensures potentially harmful content and inappropriate material continues to be blocked effectively when students are connected to our Wi-Fi network, and allows for automatic notifications if any prohibited sites are accessed or words on a watch list are searched for, and does not affect the operation of the device in any other way or in any other location.

Our IT Support Team will be on site on Monday 19th February to assist any students who are struggling to connect, so please don't worry if you have any difficulties downloading or installing the certificate.

Devices Purchased from Freedom Tech

If you bought your child's device from Freedom Tech via the school, it has already been remotely updated with the required safety certificate and you do not need to do anything further. However, please ensure your child is logged in to their Chromebook with their school account (ending in stfsstudent.com) as they will not be able to connect to our Wi-Fi if they are logged in with anything else.

Devices Purchased Independently

If your child does not have a Freedom Tech device, it will need to have the safety certificate installed before it can be connected to our network.

Please forward this email to your child's school email account, download the attached certificate to their device, and install it by following the relevant instructions below.

Thank you, it is vital that we do all we can to keep our students safe while they are using the internet and your assistance is appreciated.
