Sponsored Walk - Less than a week to go!

Please remember to let us know if your child is unable to take part for medical reasons.

On Thursday 12th June, our students and staff will be lacing up their trainers and setting off on a 10-mile sponsored walk – a day full of fresh air, fun, and fundraising!

We're coming together as a school community to raise money for three fantastic causes:

50% of the funds raised will go to Cancer Research UK - a charity close to many of our hearts, chosen by our students in recognition of the impact cancer has had on the lives of people within our school community.

25% will support the development of our school allotment and outdoor learning area.

25% will be given to the Student Council, to fund projects and improvements that matter most to our students.

Not only is this a brilliant opportunity to give back, but it also encourages our students to be active, work as a team, and feel proud of their achievements. With support from staff and our fantastic cadets, students will walk in tutor groups and enjoy a well-deserved lunch stop along the way.

We’d be incredibly grateful if you could sponsor our efforts. Every donation – big or small – helps us reach our goal and makes a real difference.

Thank you for your support!

Additional Funding for Eligible Students

We would like to make families aware of some additional funding schools can receive to support specific groups of children and young people, known as Pupil Premium or Pupil Premium Plus. This funding helps us to provide extra resources, opportunities, and support for eligible students.

Your child may be eligible if they:

  • Have previously been looked after by a local authority and are now adopted, under a Special Guardianship Order (SGO), or a Care Arrangement Order (CAO)

  • Are a child of armed forces personnel

To ensure we can claim this funding in time for the October school census, we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible if your child meets any of the above criteria.

Please email offce@sirthomasfremantle.org, and we’ll make sure our records are updated accordingly.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

  • Strategies to reduce conflict

There are still plenty of places available, so please do spread the word within our school community. Filling this course would help ensure more sessions like this can be offered in the North in future.

Uniform Donations Required

Stock levels in our Preloved Uniform Shop is a little bit low at the moment, so please think of us if you’re having a clear out and have items of uniform that your child has outgrown.

Any donations will be gratefully received at the school reception.

All proceeds go directly to the students via the Student Council.

Exam Stress Support

As exam season approaches, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed, but students don’t have to face the stress alone. Our staff are of course available to offer guidance and support, but an additional option is Kooth - a free, safe, and anonymous mental health platform, offering a range of resources to help students manage exam pressure. From expert advice and coping strategies to personal stories and interactive tools, their Exam Stress Collection provides support whenever it’s needed. From relaxation techniques to tips on staying motivated, or a space to share your worries, Kooth is here to help. Visit Kooth’s Exam Stress Collection to find out more.
