Drama

Rationale

In our Drama department's curriculum, our primary aim is to cultivate and enhance a diverse set of skills that students can progressively refine throughout their academic journey.

Each academic year, we revisit and expand upon these skills, aiming to broaden students' understanding of theatrical techniques and processes, while exposing them to an array of creative influences. Through a spectrum of topics and the exploration of historical and contemporary playwrights and performances, students engage in activities encompassing acting, stagecraft, script analysis, and theatrical production.

Our units are meticulously crafted to immerse students in the rich tapestry of dramatic heritage, fostering a deeper cultural appreciation and providing valuable insights into potential career pathways within the performing arts industry. We strive to educate our students about the evolution of drama, encouraging critical thinking and creativity while instilling a profound understanding of the art form's significance in society.

Our curriculum is structured to empower students, equipping them not only with theatrical proficiency but also with invaluable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and adaptability—skills that are essential for their personal and professional growth beyond the stage.
